ABBY

The Local Dog Mom

Owner

Abby is a born and raised New Yorker growing up in Rockland County and living in Brooklyn the last 8 years. Abby attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she received a BBA in Marketing. She grew up obsessed with dogs, reading every dog book, petting every dog she encountered and jumping at every opportunity to walk or sit someone’s dog. Sadly, her parents didn’t want the additional responsibility of a dog, so Abby grew up dogless.

Once Abby was old enough, she got her first puppy. That puppy was lab mix Leo, the love of her life. She adopted Leo when he was just three months old and 15 pounds. Fast forward 10 years, and here she has an 100-pound gentle giant. During those ten years, Abby trained Leo and he trained her – they learned together. While living in Brooklyn, Abby started volunteering at local shelters, fostering dogs and helping at adoption events. Then, she acquired her second dog, Cha Cha. Cha Cha was supposed to just be a dog she watched while her owner had to leave New York at the start of the pandemic. After a few months of having her, Abby knew Cha Cha was hers. Her owner never came back for her, which was the best thing that could have happened because now Cha Cha is an official member of Abby’s family. She brings Abby so much joy and she truly feels that Cha Cha came into her life for a reason.

Abby is the other mother you didn’t know your dog needed, but couldn’t live without.

Abby always knew that she wanted a career devoted to dogs, and that sitting in front of a computer screen for 8-plus hours a day wasn’t for her. So, she finally left the corporate world to pursue her passion: DOGS! She started walking the dogs in her neighborhood and training all her friends’ new puppies because let’s be real – puppies are the new babies. Now she is a highly skilled and empathetic provider of services to dogs of all ages, and their families. So, here’s Abby, your local Dog Mom. She’s doing what she has always wanted: Helping dogs and their “people” live their best lives possible.

Abby is pet CPR/first aid certified and fully insured.
